Franklin County Farm Bureau Association - The Voice of Agriculture
The board of directors meet monthly to set the course for the Association in Franklin County. The pillars we are built upon are: Education, Advocacy and Service.
Much of our time and energy is devoted to educating students concerning agriculture in Franklin County. Activities include Day on the Farm for all third graders and Bread in a Bag.
Day on the Farm is held annually at Sylvester Ranch in the fall. This is a cooperative program with the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce and Franklin County Farm Bureau. The 2021 Day on the Farm event was a huge success with nearly 400 students, teachers and volunteers involved.
Bread in a Bag is a program highlighting wheat provided to third graders in their classrooms. Each student takes home a loaf of homemade whole wheat bread and the recipe. In 2022, Farm Bureau volunteers presented the program to over 300 third grade students in every elementary school in Franklin County.
